HOW DO YOU MAKE…

What were your beginnings at Risk?

I had the pleasure to start my journey at Risk with sweaters. It was 2018. The girls had a vision of a warm multi-functional sweater that can be elegant as well as chilled out. But designing and manufacturing a sweater are two completely different stories. It’s not just putting a pattern over a piece of fabric and cutting it out. You have a special program for creating sweaters. You have to insert the exact number of loops and every minor adjustment forces you to take the loops down, and write the program again. Before the prototype was made, Klara spent hours and hours refining the details in the AMG knitting house in Pabianice. For example, the shape of the pockets that were supposed to be comfortable, but under no circumstances were they to widen the hips. Because a Risk sweater without pockets was out of the question.

How did you change since then?

I started in grey, as the whole Risk did. I’ve been changing my colours, but I stayed true to my style.

And what remains the cornerstone of your character?

Versatility. You can wear me as a cardigan, tied with a belt at the waist or completely loose. But you can also wear me as a wrap dress. Why should we limit ourselves? Besides, there is no reason to fear me – those who know me can confirm that I’m really warm and I don’t give you an itch, because I’m made of 80% softened long-staple wool.

Do you know your roots well?

I know it three generations back! I was designed in Warsaw and sewn in Pabianice, where they also produced the fabric that I consist of. But I also have some Italian forefathers – the yarn that makes up most of my knit comes from Italy, from a manufacturer that works ethically so that no sheep suffer in the process. Coming back to my Polish family, the AMG knitting house in Pabianice has been on the market for 25 years already, and for the two past years they’ve been collaborating with Risk. It’s nice to know where you come from.

And where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In your closet. ;) Where else? I’ve been practically everywhere, even in Siberia with Klara’s friend. I’ll get around in +20 and -20°C. I’ll fire up every woman to her own taste.
